It's hard to imagine it's been 4 years already and yet another wonderful experience is up and coming, and I'm talking off course about the world cup coming to you this summer from Brazil, no less. The south African experience was crazy!, so many fans from around the world discovered again the African continent, and despite fears of disorder and what not, the organization was actually great, the fans were happy and the soccer..ah the soccer!
Spain was the big winner in the last tournament (and the two euro tournament before and after that) which is quite amazing,. But can the Spaniards do it again? How about Argentina? can Leo Messi, the best player in the world, as many believe, can actually carry his friends to take on the world cup on Brazil soil no less ? or will the locals, the wonderful Brazilian teams with star player Neymar and others, can they bring home the trophy and celebrate the Brazilian way ?
Time will tell, and anybody who wishes to gamble now, on who will win the cup is doing exactly that..Gambling. . it's a short tournament, and anything can happen in a few games span. The team that will be the most focuses and in the best shape will have the best chance of winning it, but anything can happen on the grass. A player can get injured, or get a red card, you can get a crazy goal, or maybe the referee isn't in your favor?
The world cup tournament is one of a kind. It plays every four years, in a different location, and the eyes of the world are on that tournament. Brazil got a huge help, by hosting this tournament, and immediately will host the Olympics after that. (Two years later). For Brazil, it seems, they already won, but can they bring the trophy home? in early July of this year, we will get all the answers.
Soccer players are governed by laws of the game but without any specification on the positions the game itself has evolved into positional playing. The players come under 3 categories based on their positions or specialized roles – the strikers (also known as forward position), the defenders and the midfielders. All these players are commonly addressed as outfield players, and then there is also the goalkeeper. The main duty of the midfielders is to dispossess opposition, protect the ball from going into the hands (or rather legs) of the opposition. They also need to tactfully pass it on to their strikers so that goals can be scored. The strikers as the name suggests need to score goals with the balls passed on to them by the midfielders. Then there are the defenders, here to as the name suggests these players defend the ball from scoring goals by the opposite team.
The above category is further subdivided into 3 divisions depending on their placement on the field. These are central defenders, the left midfielders and the right midfielders. Although such a demarcation exists there is no hard and fast rule that the players must and should play from that position only.
Dwyane Wade started with a salary of $2.6 million with the Miami Heat in 2003. He plays as the shooting guard position but he is also capable of playing as a point guard. He has been on the team for about 7 years. In 2006, his salary was about $3.8 million. By 2007, his salary climbed to $13 million dollars. That’s a very big jump from the former $3.8 million.
He had an injury on his left knee and had missed several games for two seasons. He is a team player and an excellent shooter. He consistently shoots the free throws and is an unselfish player, averaging about 6.8 assists per game.
By 2009, he is already earning $15 million annually. In 2010, Wade helped facilitate the addition of LeBron James and Chris Bosh in Miami Heat by agreeing to decrease his salary by $1 million. For the 2010 – 2011 season, he is only earning $14 million and $300,000 less than Bosh and James.
Besides the salary he is getting for playing professional basketball with Miami, he also has several major endorsement deals with several companies like Nike, Gatorade, McDonlds, T-Mobile, Hublot watches and Mission Skincare.
